June 5th The Pernikoff Brothers The Pernikoff Brothers project, which debuted in Palo Alto, CA in October of 2006, is barely one year old, but has been a long time in the making. Tom and Rick Pernikoff began composing and playing music together as kids in St. Louis. They spent their early years honing their skills as instrumentalists on guitar and bass respectively, and immersed themselves in the classic sounds of Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Jackson 5, Pink Floyd, Marvin Gaye, Jimi Hendrix, and much more. Tom and Rick later focused their attention to Jazz and more improvisation music while living in Boston and studying with world famous musicians and educators, Jon Damian and Bob Nieske. Soon after their arrival in California, they began composing music for what is now the Pernikoff Brothers. Their compositions span many styles of music, but can be largely classified as "singer/songwriter". http://www.pernikoffbrothers.com
June 19th Cello Joe – Back for a second time - There aren’t very many singing, rapping, beatboxing, cello players in the world. You could probably count them on your fingers, if you knew any of them. But there’s a particularly funny and funky curious one you should remember and he goes by the name of Cellojoe. Like most cello players, Joseph Abraham Tal Tien-Ru Chang Jr. Senior III esquire (or just Joey for short) started out as a classical cellist. A mild-mannered suburbanite kid from Los Altos, California, Joey began studying the cello at age ten. His first instrument was actually piano which he started at age nine. For the first eight years, there were weekly private lessons and many music summer camps. There were also weekly youth orchestra rehearsals. And from this fertile classical ground sprang forth a very unusual weed from a crack in the suburbial sidewalk. http://www.myspace.com/cellojoe

July 3rd Diamond Bob and the Alley Sneakers – Back for a second time - Bob "Diamond Bob" Perro formed Diamond Bob and The Alley Sneakers in 2006. He started singing when he was 8 years old. Involved in music throughout the 1950's and 60's, including 4 years in the military in Vietnam where he performed with visiting USO bands, he returned home to raise his family. At his 40th year high school reunion, Bob was presented a picture of himself performing with his high school band, Lord John and the Yorkshires, which reignited the spark to perform. Since then Bob has studied harmonica with Danny Hull of the Doobie Brothers and Dave Barrett at the School of the Blues in San Jose, CA.
Diamond Bob counts B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Jimi Hendrix and any good blues music featuring harmonica as his musical influences. http://www.diamondbobsblues.com
