Lunch 'n' Learn: Engaging affluent philanthropists in today's challenging times September 24, 2009

This session will explore the philanthropic and economic landscape as a context for examining the art of donor engagement with high-net-worth donors and developing an effective pitch. Strategies for success will be shared through a broader group discussion. The session will address:

* The philanthropic landscape, including giving sectors and wealth statistics
* The art of donor engagement with high-net-worth donors, including tips and hurdles
* Building your own pitch for an effective philanthropic dialogue
* Discussion on strategies and successes

Robin Ganzert is deputy director of philanthropic services at the Pew Charitable Trusts. She provides leadership and management for the team of advisors for strategic high-impact philanthropy. The team is responsible for cultivating relationship with foundations, the private sector, and high-net-worth individuals for philanthropic investment opportunities. Before joining Pew, Robin served as senior vice president and national director of philanthropic strategies with Wachovia Wealth management, a division of Wachovia Bank, N.A., and she founded the Wachovia National Center for Planned Giving.
