Luminous Ground: Artists With Histories January 2, 2013

'Luminous Ground: Artists With Histories' explores outstanding work by older Illinois artists. These artists share several important similarities: 1) the creation of life-long bodies of work of the highest caliber; 2) the influencing of students and other artists across generations through teaching and community service; 3) commitments of fifty to sixty years or more to the exploration of personal creativity. The exhibit counters the emphasis on the youth culture that pervades society and suggests that the pursuit of creativity can be a life-enhancing activity for all.
