Gradle is a next-generation build tool for the JVM that combines the flexibility of Ant with the conventions and dependency management of Maven. Based on an extensible a Groovy DSL, Gradle provides a declarative way to describe a project build through sensible defaults, plus a powerful imperative scripting language (Groovy) when you need it. Gradle is quickly becoming the build system of choice for many open source and corporate organizations.
