Luigi Ballerini, distinguished professor of modern and contemporary Italian literature at the University of California at Los Angeles, will present his book Erbe da mangiare (Edible Herbs) published by Mondadori.
Erbe da mangiare is an unusual, multifaceted book which brings together over a hundred recipes with brief essays, legends, poems and songs inspired by herbs used in cooking. The volume is primarily a guidebook for going “herb hunting” in meadows and woods, to obtain the ingredients for excellent dishes, such as those which Ada De Santis teaches us to prepare in these recipes. Her recipes are accompanied by amusing introductions by Luigi Ballerini, one of the most eclectic and active Italian poets on the international scene.
