Lowry emerges from the heap of bands that call Brooklyn home by creating complicated musical short stories that when assembled give their album Love Is Dead a sweeping, epic feel.Lowry finds itself right at home between Death Cab for Cutie and Nada Surf. Though that title may seem to reveal a pretty bleak landscape outside Lowry's window, nothing could be further from the truth.The band was taken by complete surprise this past Summer when they were invited to play the All Points West festival. It's a testament to the strength of this album that organizers consider Love Is Dead to be the album that puts Lowry on a par with other APW bands like Radiohead, Kings of Leon and the New Pornographers.

Lowry is also included on the recent second installment of Engine Room Recordings popular Guilt By Association compilation, where artists cover their guilty pleasure favorites. The record also features songs by My Brightest Diamond, Matt Pond PA, Frightened Rabbit and Kaki King.
