On Saturday, April 28, Lowe’s will sponsor a free “how-to” clinic for women interested in learning construction skills like ladder safety, proper use of power tools, how to hang siding and drywall, and general build safety. This event provides construction training for women who will volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Orlando during its Women Build Week (May 7 to 12), although clinics are open to the general public as well. There is no cost to enroll, and tools and supplies are provided by Lowe’s.
Habitat for Humanity’s “National Women Build Week,” is a volunteer-driven event designed to empower women to take action against poverty-level housing conditions. Across all 50 states, more than 9,000 women volunteers are building and raising the funding needed to build affordable homes at more than 200 Habitat for Humanity construction sites.
