Swarming guitar fuzz, bass waves, Jana Hunter's voice, and insistent drum throbs are the core components of Baltimore's Lower Dens. Lower Dens is the new name for freak-folk songwriter Jana Hunter's band, which has actually been around much longer, only playing under Hunter's name. She is veering away from folk and country to form this shoe-gaze-infused experimental rock band.
