Locanda del Lago in Santa Monica presents an Italian-flavored "Menu di San Valentino" for Valentine's Day (Saturday, February 14) beginning at 4 p.m. and also offered evening through Friday, February 20. The aphrodisiac-filled four- or five-course prix fixe menu pairs each course with prestigious Italian wines.
"Menu di San Valentino" begins with NETTARE DI AFRODITE (chilled gazpacho, New Zealand blue oyster*) paired with PROSECCO BRUT, CANELLA, followed by CUORE MATTO (housemade heart-shaped ravioli, monkfish-arugula stuffing*, ricotta salata sauce) served with ORVIETO, TENUTA SALVIANO, '07. Main courses are GELOSIA DI PESCE (Chilean sea bass-salmon-tuna stew, shellfish bisque*, puff pastry crust, rainbow cauliflower) paired with VALPOLICELLA, ALLEGRINI, '05 and NOCHE CALIENTE (natural filet mignon, lobster stuffing, ginger sauce*, alfalfa salad, ambrosia shot*) paired with GIOME, PROVENZA, '05. Dessert is LUNA DI MIELE (chocolate moon loop*, mango-chile tower*, molecular honey air) served with BRACCHETTO D'ACQUI, COPPO, '06.

The four-course menu (choice of seafood or filet) is $79.00 per person, or $109 including the wine pairings. The complete five-course version is $98.00 per person or $139 including the wine pairings. Tax and gratuity are additional.
