18th Street's art shows are more than just stagnant exhibits; they trigger provocative lecture series, dynamic panel discussions and community-oriented workshops. In conjunction with 18th Street's newest exhibit "Love in a Cemetery", we will be hosting a discussion called "Peace Platica" at the Nat'l Center for the Preservation of Democracy/Japanese American Nat'l Museum.
The roundtable focuses on organizations and programs working with gang intervention programs, at-risk youth and issues related to the issue of education vs. incarceration. The current case of Alex Sanchez and the two related legislative bills key to youth and gang intervention workers for the state of California will also be discussed
