**************
On September 23, 2007, Amy Woloszyn, local bicycle rider, artist, graphic designer, active member of the community, member of the Bike Coalition and the League of Pissed Off Voters, was run over by a drunk driver while riding her bicycle and was almost killed on Capp Street at 23rd Street. It was a hit and run.

Amy suffered a fractured skull, lacerated liver, and numerous cuts and bruises over her entire body making everyday activities painful. She is in a neck brace 24/7 for the next two months and usually needs the help of a cane to limp around. She will be out of work for an undetermined amount of time and wants to raise money to ensure bills and rent are paid while she’s healing. She also wants to create awareness and visibility around how the city needs better biker awareness and dedicated bicycle lanes and enhance the relationship between bike riders and drivers in general.

There will be an art and services auction (think paintings and massages!), bake sale, music performances, as well as DJ’s that will provide entertainment throughout the night. There will probably be a representative from the Bike Coalition handing out information and selling memberships. She has chef friends that will be preparing food, asking a small donation per plate. This is also an opportunity for Amy to celebrate life and party with her loved ones in the Bay Area.
