Louisville Christian Writers is a group of Christians who write. Many of us write in multiple genres, including religious/Christian, and our attendees come from all levels of experience from beginner to professional.
If you are a Christian and you write, or have always wanted to write, you are welcome to join us on the 2nd Saturday of any month for both encouragement and instruction. Our topics range from poetry, to journaling, to submission and marketing of book-length manuscripts.
The greatest strength of our group is in what we learn during our critique sessions. From 4:30pm to 5:30pm on our meeting days, we gather in small groups to read and comment on each others writing. Any who bring something to be critiqued are asked to bring 4-5 copies of up to 4 manuscript pages (typed, double-spaced, and spell-checked) for review. Any who give critiques are asked to do so in an honest yet kind spirit remembering that we are Christian first and writers next. We stress the adage that honesty without compassion is cruelty.
If you wish to join us for our critique session and/or our public meeting (runs from 6pm to 8pm), you'll find us in the "Community Room" near the cafeteria on basement level L2 at Norton Audubon Hospital off of Poplar Level Road. For details on specific meeting agendas, you can find our main site at http://www.lcwriters.com, our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/lcwriters, or follow us on Twitter at http://twitter.com/lcwriters.
If you wish to become a member, dues are only $30 for the first year and $25 for renewal years. As a member, you are invited bring your manuscripts to an unlimited number of critique sessions, and you are eligible to have your writing published in our newsletter.
We look forward to seeing or meeting you in the near future. Please let us know if you found our posting here at Yahoo Upcoming.
