Louis Lortie plays Liszt March 10, 2011

Celebrated Canadian pianist Louis Lortie turns his comprehensive artistry to the work of Franz Liszt to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Liszt’s birth. In one extraordinary marathon evening of music, Lortie will perform the entirety of Liszt’s monumental Années de pèlerinage (Years of Pilgrimage), a virtuosic, highly varied, genuinely moving masterwork that musically details Liszt’s travels through Switzerland and Italy, then back home to Hungary.
