"When language becomes music becomes poetry becomes art, all become one." This is how musician/artist/performance artist and published writer Toby Lurie describes "Synesthesia," the theme of the Lost Coast Word-Music Ensemble's concert on Sunday, November 16, at 3:00 p.m., in the Mendocino Art Center's Main Gallery.
Lurie will combine with fellow actors Motherbear, Toni Orans and Charles Bush to perform his language compositions in what could be called a "word-music" concert, treating audiences to individual and ensemble voices sounding and resounding in plotted, dizzying exchanges. A kaleidoscope of interspersed vocal sounds, rhythm and music.
