The Los Angeles Master Chorale serves up two matinees of its delightful seasonal feast, “Holiday Wonders: Festival of Carols,” Saturday, December 8, 2 p.m., and Saturday, December 15, 2012, 2 p.m., at Walt Disney Concert Hall. New arrangements of cherished holiday carols and traditional favorites, sung to delicious perfection by 90 members of the Chorale, under the baton of The Kiki & David Gindler Music Director Grant Gershon, set a joyful tone making this concert a highlight of the season. The program features such classics as Deck the Hall, Silent Night, The First Noël, White Christmas, Santa Claus is Coming To Town, Here We Come a Caroling, and several arrangements of carols by the Chorale’s Swan Family Composer In Residence Shawn Kirchner. Disney Hall’s iconic pipe organ, played by John West, adds a delightful sonic flourish.
“Holiday Wonders: Festival of Carols” is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts and The Bank of America Charitable Foundation.
