The first Los Angeles Area Meetup for DataPortability Group http://dataportability.org
Brought to you by the Sun Startup Essentials Program .
We are fortunate enough to have the presence of the Grandfather of DataPortability from Australia, Chris Saad.
We can review what we have done to date, how everyone can continue to contribute and discuss any gaps that we can all work towards filling.
We've locked down a venue mid-city. It's the recently open coworking space BLANKSPACES (http://BLANKSPACES.COM). Thank you so much to Jerome for giving us a home.
Come hungry because Sun Startup Essentials is sponsoring pizza, salad & soda. What more could you ask for. That's dataportability in style.
pizza, salad soda from the Los Angeles Pizza Company

oh yeah Olivier, sounds real tough out there in Kauai. maybe we'll conference you in from your surfboard.
Unfortunately, this is coming when I'm out of town. This is a topic I'm very interested in along with Open Social and other avenues of living within the social network operating system world that seems to be emerging. If there's any interest in getting together to discuss how people can leverage various technologies and platforms for different kinds of solutions, I'm definitely in.
I might be able to go! I'll be in town that day after the TechCrunch party on Thurs. I also need coworking space Friday, so this could work out nicely.
Be sure to invite the Identity Commons folks. They've already done a lot of the heavy data portability lifting.
good call heather! i'll let them know.
Crap, I'll be in LA the night before for the Popsugar party (although I had planned on doing a touch and go). I might as well just stay the whole weekend at this rate.
woohoo, that's the spirit Lisa!
Wish I could make it tonight... For those of you who couldn't make it (and those who did!), we are hosting next month's DataPortability Meetup at Found Gallery: http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/472388/
