Loosen My Tie August 30, 2009

What started as a class project in 2002, Loosen My Tie is the story of musician, David Shultz, wanting to turn his passion of music into his career. The feature length documentary follows Shultz & his band, the Skyline, in the studio and on tour.

It really goes back even farther than that. I met David in the 2nd grade when his family moved and we started going to the same elementary school. Along with our other friend Marcus, we managed to be inseparable throughout the years.

Getting into the same interests whether it’s skateboarding or music, David, Marcus and I grew up playing music together since middle school in various bands over the years. Playing music together took us up and down the east coast and we made many friends with the bands we played with to the people at the shows.

After high school, I was venturing more into film and video while Shultz progressed with music and songwriting. After years of only playing guitar in bands, Shultz finally branched out as a solo artist which is where the documentary beings.
