On Wednesday, May 30, 2012, Longwood at Oakmont, a Presbyterian SeniorCare Continuing Care Retirement Community in Plum, will join over 1,000 local organizations across the United States to celebrate the 19th Annual National Senior Health & Fitness Day sponsored by Mature Market Resource Center. This national community-oriented festival was established with one goal - to help keep older Americans healthy and fit.
For this special day, Longwood at Oakmont has organized a Walk-A-Thon to correspond with the 2012 theme of “Get Moving...Start Improving!”. Attendees will begin their route at the community’s Sports Complex and complete the loop around the Longwood at Oakmont campus. Various games including bocce ball, horse shoes, croquet and shuffleboard have also been scheduled throughout the day.
To commemorate the day, participants will also receive a variety of giveaways including water bottles, pedometers, and tote bags. Refreshments are also being provided.
This event is free and open to the public. To register, please visit www.longwoodatoakmont.com or call 877-214-8410.
