Longest Night Service: Advent is a time of expectancy. It is also a time of expectations. We are expected to be joyful, energetic, and to delight in time with family. Advertisers sell us this idea, as does our culture, and sometimes we ourselves are convinced that the Advent and Christmas seasons ought to be the “most wonderful time of the year.” The reality is it can be a time of depression, anxiety, stress, or grief. God calls us to honesty about our condition. On the longest night of the year, December 21, you are invited to a service of honesty in which we will acknowledge our pain and sorrows before our God. Our time together will include an opportunity to receive anointing and healing prayer, as well as communion. Please come as you are.
