London Street Fighter IV Ranking Battles Season 1 (relocated) March 15, 2009

SF IV Ranking Battles will no longer take place at Gamerbase.

They will now take place on Sundays at 3PM at Yates in Harrow.

Due to the incredible number of people that attended our Gamerbase events over the last two weeks, we regret to inform you that we are no longer able to continue hosting events at Gamerbase. Trocadero and HMV security staff members raised a number of concerns and there was no viable workaround that would have satisfied both Neo Empire and both security teams.

But fear not, because the show WILL go on. We have decided to move the day of the Ranking Battle to Sunday, and the location to Yates in Harrow, where many of our previous tournaments and events have taken place.

In addition to try and apologise to you guys for having to make you come so far to play, it now costs just £2 to enter the venue. That lets you play casuals AND in the tournament.

We would like to sincerely apologise to everyone for the short notice of this announcement, but please try to understand that there was literally no other option available to us at such short notice. We will be continuing discussions with a number of parties to see if we can revive the possibility of a Central London location, but in the mean time, our hand has been forced.

Now whilst this may initially sound like bad news, if you really think about it, it really isn't. Here are just a number of reasons why moving to Yates is actually BETTER for our event than staying at Gamerbase:
More SPACE!
More setups (including PS3 setups!) allowing more people to play, both in the tournament and causally!
NO MORE CAPPING!!! If 150 people turn up to play, 150 people enter the tournament!
More games! Although SF IV will make up 90% of the setups on show, we'll throw in a few PS2's with 3S, Guilty Gear, CvS2, whatever you want into the mix.
It's at a Pub! Food and Drink available all day long!
Plenty of spaces to park in the nearby vicinity!
So really the only issue is the location, which we will admit, is that Yates is not the most convenient place to get to.

However, if you want to level up and get better at Street Fighter IV, our events are THE place to be. Aside from moving to Japan for a year, nothing will improve your game faster than playing the best players in London, if not the UK, in a tournament environment on a regular basis.

So come on community, you have been FANTASTIC so far with the level of support shown at Gamerbase SF IV RB's. Let's keep the momentum going and keep the good vibes and good times rolling at Yates.

FYI, the venue will open at 3PM, with the Ranking Battle kicking off at 4PM. The event will close at 8PM.

No under 16's, no alcohol to under 18's.
No outside food or drink is permitted.
Anyone who does bring food or drink into the venue will be removed
Purchasing alcohol, if you look young please bring photo ID
Passport or driving licence only.

Tournament Details

Game: Street Fighter IV Xbox 360 Pal
Format: Single Elimination. Top 8 players from current RB points are seeded.
Prizes: Top 3 Players receive 60 / 30 / 10 % split of total pot. Pot depends on number of attendees.
