Fresh from its sell out Palladium show, Europe’s largest and best known gay choir presents “Songs of Innocence and Experience”, a unique perspective on the journey we take from child to adulthood.
Taking the settings of William Blake's poems as a central theme, the 150-strong choir embroiders an adventure in song that includes works by Aaron Copland, Ludwig Van Beethoven, The Doors, Stephen Sondheim, Kate Bush and Kurt Weill.
In its own inimitable way, the chorus examines how experience alters our perceptions of love, friendship, relationships and leaves us sometimes chastened but always wiser.
At once contemporary and classical, this show speaks to the adult and the child in us all and reflects the London Gay Men’s Chorus at its very best.
LGMC takes the show to Brighton’s Theatre Royal on Sunday the 15th June and to the New Empire Theatre, Southend, on the 22nd before settling in London for two nights at the Cadogan Hall on the 4th and 5th of July.
