London Flickr Ultimate Group Meet Up March 16, 2008

Hi all
I know this won't appeal or be possible for everyone, however I was thinking it would possibly be a good idea to arrange a London Meet Up of all Ultimate Group photographers.
I am proposing a Meet Up at The Piazza at Covent Garden WC2, where anyone who is interested would meet up, grab a coffee, get to know other photographers, followed by either a photo shoot around Central London (locations to be confirmed), or if the weather is bad - a trip to view the photo galleries in the National Portrait Gallery at Charing Cross Road, Trafalgar Square.

Hi All,
What a great idea! and like Mike I will be in London with our group of 17 football kids, 11 and 12 years old. Our tour that day includes a day off from training and having lunch at covent gardens so the meet seems pre-destined. I am looking forward to meeting other flickr people, is it okay if I am not in the ultimate group?

The rain appeared to scare off everyone :( so I was there on my own ....
Maybe we reschedule this for the summer

Rescheduling is a good idea. I turned up late and went round in circles till I found the right lamppost. In the end I went down to the Photographer's Gallery, then the National Portrait Gallery and a little bit of the St Patrick's Day parade. Sadly I'd left my camera on 1600 ISO for the whole time.
Next time we should meet in the Photographer's Gallery. It's warm and dry.

(the rain didn't seem to put off the Sports Relief lot on the Embankment though and they would have been quite cool to photograph as an aside)
