In this talk, we're going to get right back to the roots of JavaScript. We'll examine the languages that influenced JavaScript, and how the legacy of those influences is visible even in modern JavaScript frameworks.
We're going to look at how a functional language ended up running in a web browser in 1995, and how JS has evolved over the last 15 years. We'll cover writing servers in JavaScript using node.js, writing offline desktop and mobile applications using JavaScript and HTML5, and at how you can take your .NET web app development to the next level using frameworks like Knockout.js
