REMERGE
Locus has moved to Galeria de la Raza, and it's our first event at our new home. Join us for a welcoming reception with SCRABBEL, GOH NAKAMURA, and some of your favorite Bay Area artists.
Doors open at 7pm for reception (that means appetizing refreshments), program starts at 8pm. We're starting off 2004 in high spirits, and you best be there!
About the artists:
Originally a collaboration between Dan Lee and old high school friend Becky Barron, SCRABBEL, over the last year, has morphed into something of a solo project for Dan. For the most recent performances, he has enlisted the help of friends -- Rosemary (violin), Stanley (guitar), Atsushi (bass), Helen (cello) and Nathalie (vox), to re-interpret the songs off of the debut, and play the new ones for the upcoming release.
GOH NAKAMURA cut his teeth on the Boston Music scene providing "stunt guitar" work for various local bands. After a stint at the Berklee College of Music where he sharpened his ears, he came back to the west coast to write his own songs. He likes to think of himself as a combination of John Lennon, John Cusack and John Coltrane. However unholy this trinity is, it seems to work (at least in his head). For the last 3 years, he's been playing his original songs as well as an eclectic spectrum of covers at assorted venues throughout the SF Bay Area. You can hear some of his homemade music and check out his performance calendar at www.gohnakamura.com.
