The Irving Symphonic Band has been making great music for over 18 years serving the community and surrounding areas, and is currently seeking to grow its membership. Our mission is to provide our citizens with quaility music through our concerts and provide a musical outlet for our members.
If you enjoy playing music and are available for rehearsals on Thursday nights, we want to talk to you! All sections have openings: flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon, trumpet, french horn, euphonium, trombone, tuba and percussion. Chair placement is at the discretion of the conductor.
The ISB is a talented group of volunteer musicians and is directed by one of the area's best conductors. Our band is comprised of people with diverse musical backgrounds. Many of our members are full time band directors and musicians. However, the majority of our members work in professions not related to music but have a desire to continue playing challenging music.
If you play an instrument and would like to join our band, we encourage you come and sit in on a rehearsal or two. Rehearsals are on Thursday nights from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. at the Irving Arts Center. 3333 N. MacArthur Blvd., Irving, TX 75062.
Membership consists of annual dues of $50 and a summer shirt. Please contact us at: clarinet1mailbox-music@yahoo.com for more information or to let us know when you would like to sit in on a rehearsal with us. Visit our website: http://www.irving-symphonic-band.org
