Using the Local Foods Wheel as our guide we’ll create a meal of food grown within a 100-mile radius of San Francisco. Picking from the peak of the season we’ll learn delicious ways to prepare a diverse range of produce, meat and dairy. We’ll make delectable soups, side dishes, desserts and more. At the end of class we’ll feast on our creations and everyone will take recipes and a farmer’s market guide home with them.
Summers bounty of color and flavors will inspire us in this meal. We’ll work with farmer’s market produce to make delicious dishes with tomatoes, corn, cucumbers, squash, stone fruit, figs, local wheat and watermelon.
