Thursday at 7 p.m., Aug. 26, the People for Peace & Goodwill meeting at 313 1/2 Division will be
devoted to a discussion of local candidates.
This fall, we will vote in races related to city council, county board, school
board, state legislature and U.S. Congress, as well as the all-important
presidential race. There also will be judges and other positions to consider.
Boundaries have changed since our last presidential election, particularly in
regards to the county commissioners. On Thursday night, we will have maps to
help us understand who we are voting for in each area.
No candidates have been invited to this PPG meeting, so we will be able to
talk about candidates "behind their backs."
It's important that we acquaint ourselves with the candidates now, since there
will be an important primary election on Sept. 14. Join us! -- Bill McGrath
