Gateway Gallery proudly presents “Local Color: Seven Years of Regional Art” showcasing the best and latest work from the gallery’s 18 award-winning artists. “Local Color” is a celebration of seven years in downtown Clayton.
Gateway Gallery opened in 2004 as the unofficial local side of the St. Louis Art Fair. Seven years later – including one of the worst recessions in recent history – the gallery is a year-round mainstay in Clayton and in St. Louis.
Additionally, since the artists share the gallery’s day-to-day operations, people can enjoy talking directly with artists and learning firsthand the stories behind the art. And with such a diverse range of styles, people can visit the gallery for gifts or something specific for their home collections.
Exhibiting artists for “Local Color” include:
Karen Antrim – ceramic horse and functional pieces
Michael Anderson – painter and illustrator in traditional and digital media

All of Gateway Gallery’s artists exhibit or have work on display throughout the region and the state and several on a national and international level. These include traveling and one-time-only exhibitions, shows and art fairs, as well as public and private collections. Gateway Gallery is the only space to catch these artists year round and is often the first place where they display new work.
Established in 2004, Gateway Gallery is a unique, co-op art gallery exhibiting 18 regional, award-winning artists whose work range from traditional landscape to contemporary abstraction. Media includes oil, pastel, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, photography, ceramics, and woodworking. Exhibits typically run every six weeks, featuring one of the gallery’s 18 artists as well as three visiting artists.
Located in downtown Clayton, Mo., the gallery is within walking distance to other galleries and many of St. Louis’ finest restaurants and cafés, making it a “must-stop” destination for art lovers, art collectors and designers. Visit www.gatewaygalleryonline.com for more information.
