The Red Room at Cafe 939, Boston’s premiere all-ages venue, is pleased to invite Liz Longley and Jesse Ruben. They will hit the stage at 8 p.m. for a spectacular night of talent and music.
Just a few months after graduating from Berklee College of Music, Liz Longley is already showing signs of becoming the next acoustic powerhouse. In 2010 alone, Liz was awarded the BMI John Lennon Scholarship, Grand Prize International Acoustic Music Award (amongst 9,000 entries), Chris Austin Songwriting Award and appeared at the Newport and Rocky Mountain Folk Festivals. Liz is particularly highly regarded for her personal, emotionally engaging songwriting. She is actively touring throughout the East Coast and has opened for Shawn Colvin, Paula Cole, Nanci Griffith, and Livingston Taylor.

Twenty-three-year-old, Philly-bred singer-songwriter Jesse Ruben delivers lush, soulful pop-rock on his second album, The Ones That Matter. The album was recorded by producer Chris Keup (Jason Mraz, OAR, Parachute) and his partner Stewart Myers (Mraz, Lifehouse, Rachel Yamagata, Mandy Moore). He only applied to one college: Berklee College of Music in Boston. Ruben’s focus on songwriting helped him blossom as a musician, using singer-songwriters like Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell as inspiration.
