Learn how to help yourself while helping others!
The workshop is designed to help participants continuing living full and active lives while managing a chronic condition. The education is focused on developing the skills needed to help participants deal with medical self management of the disease, the life role changes and emotions that are always part of living with a chronic condition
Emphasis is placed on helping participants... manage common problems such as; fatigue, communicating with friends, family and providers, dealing with anger and depression, designing and maintaining an appropriate exercise program.
This is not a lecture course; workshops are interactive with discussion encouraged. Participants ideally have a chronic health condition or are closely associated with someone who has a chronic health condition.
Participants will learn how to teach others to deal with symptoms, frustrations and how to design a personalized self-management program.
The Living Well series was developed for people with on-going health conditions such as diabetes, asthma emphysema, heart conditions, high blood pressure and for those living or caring for those with a chronic condition. The workshop consists of 4 sessions.
This class is free & materials will be provided. Continental breakfast will be provided.
