Community Thanksgiving Dinner Opens its Doors for the 29th Year-
The Livermore Community Thanksgiving Dinner serves over 1000 free hot meals each year, from turkey to dressing to sides and desserts in a full holiday atmosphere. While many guests are seniors, shut-ins, veterans from the VA Hospital and more, guests include everyone from singles to newcomers to the community, or those without extended family who want to spend the day interacting with others in a fun and friendly community environment.
Those who need transportation or meals delivered can call 925-455-9782.
To help this community-based nonprofit, donations are always a need, from desserts to turkey-cooking to canned goods or monetary donations. Volunteers are always welcomed, with a special need for cleanup volunteers Thursday evening and Friday morning. More details about volunteering or donating are available on the website, but best to come to one of the volunteer meetings: 11/9, 7pm, and 11/23, 7pm.
Leftover food and can donations will be donated to Open Heart Kitchen.
