Venture into the mysterious waters of the ocean and join real-life explorers, such as famed oceanographer Dr. Robert Ballard—all without leaving dry land! Immersion Learning brings the exciting world of ocean exploration live to Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration April 20–24.
During the week of live webcasts, viewers will be able to interact directly with Dr. Ballard and other scientists and engineers involved in a variety of oceanographic research expeditions.
The webcasts will feature recent expeditions to the Aegean Sea off the coast of Turkey, the Black Sea off the coast of Ukraine and the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary in Lake Huron, Mich. Audiences will find out how marine archaeologists map and explore shipwrecks using ocean technologies.
Guests can also see Immersion’s first-ever student remotely operated vehicle competition. Each day, two student teams from the Northeast will design, build and test ROVs at the aquarium. Free with aquarium admission. Tickets available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The 30-minute live webcasts will take place daily at various times. Visit mysticaquarium.org for showtimes.
