Live Jazz by Martin McDonald & Alex Heigl! June 17, 2011

Internationally acclaimed jazz guitarist Martin McDonald is featuring with bassist Alex Heigl on Friday, June 17th at Caribbean Soul Restaurant (formerly Soule) from 8 – 11pm.

Martin’s repertoire includes performances in Malaysia and the Philippines with renowned musicians James Atkinson and Marc Velasco! He studied at George Mason University, where he met Alex Heigl.

Alex’s jazz style is heavily influenced by Charles Minus, Thelonius Monk and the Free Jazz movement of the ‘60’s. He has performed in venues in Pennslyvania, Virginia, and regularly in New York City.

Martin & Alex are playing three sets at Caribbean Soul on June 17th, beginning at 8pm and there is no cover charge. Caribbean Soul is located at 920 Fulton Street between Washington and St. James in the Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn and serves a delicious combination of Caribbean and soul food and features live musicians on Fridays and Saturdays.
