Jazz guitarist Eric DiVito will play live at Caribbean Soul restaurant in Brooklyn on Friday, July 8th from 8 – 11pm.
Eric began playing the guitar at the age of 11 and was gigging professionally by the time he was in high school. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Guitar Performance and Music Education from the Crane School of Music where he studied with Doug Rubio and Bret Zvacek and a Master’s degree in Jazz Performance from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College where he studied under Paul Bollenback, Antonio Hart, and Michael Phillip Mossman.
Eric is an active composer, frequently performing and recording his original music. Several of his compositions and arrangements have been commissioned for various ensembles and events and featured in independent films.
Eric’s repertoire is extensive, and includes the Iridium Jazz Club, Smalls, The 55 Bar, The Garage, Miles' Cafe, Puppets Jazz Bar, The Cutting Room, Port Jazz, and Sullivan Hall. He has performed with New York’s greatest jazz musicians; worked in pit bands and jazz groups for Carnival Cruise lines, as well as on the Bateaux Dinner Cruise out of Chelsea Piers in New York City Harbor and has been featured in various guitar and music publications including RAE magazine and Play Jazz Guitar magazine.
