Mazza Gallerie introduces free jazz concerts, scheduled on Saturdays of each month throughout the year, from 4 until 6 pm. The jazz series continues through 2011 with one or two different bands each month at Mazza Gallerie, 5300 Wisconsin Ave, Washington, DC. The jazz performances take place on the mezzanine between Pampillonia Jewelers and Ann Taylor, and the sounds resound throughout the shopping center. A nice way to round out a Saturday afternoon…

Rick Whitehead Trio
Saturday, March 5
Led by master jazz guitarist Rick Whitehead, this world class power trio has been together for 15 years which is quite evident by their solid and cohesive sound. The other members of the trio are bassist Lou Hinds and drummer Barry Hart. Rick Whitehead’s CDs have met with rave reviews.

Jack Wolfe Trio
Saturday, April 2
Captivating renditions of Big Band Music as well as versions of 1950’s and 1960’s jazz classics. Their full tone and toe-tapping beat is produced on tenor and soprano saxophones, keyboard, and string bass.
Susan Jones Trio

Uniquely led with Susan’s violin that swings in this acoustic jazz trio bringing diverse sounds with skillful improvisation.
Monica Worth Trio
Saturday, May 21
Vocalist Monica Worth brings her vibrant personality singing the music of Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald and others. With keyboard and string bass, the trio swings!
