Daniela Schachter and Oleg Osenkov are scheduled to perform their Brazilian Jazz repertoire Live at Soule International Restaurant in the Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn on Saturday, July 25th from 8 – 11pm.
By her mid-teens, Daniela was already touring in Sicily, Italy. The 2005 Mary Lou Williams Jazz Piano Competition, 2002 Sister in Jazz Competition, and 2002 Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead Competition are but a few of the awards of which Daniela can boast. She was also recently featured as one of the top jazz musicians in New York City in the Japanese Playboy, October 2008. Her discography includes Quintet, and I colori del mare.
Oleg began studying classical guitar at only 12 years old and studied Jazz with Anatoly Sobolev, Professor of Gnessins Academy of Music in Moscow. He’s been featured in several TV and radio shows in Moscow, as well as in the movie Autumn Blues, which depicts the life of jazz musicians in Russia.
The Jazz Duo are performing live at Soulé International Saturday, July 25th from 8 – 11pm, and there is no charge for admission. The restaurant is located at 920 Fulton Street between Washington and St. James, conveniently located near the C train’s Clinton-Washington station.
