The Foothill Theatre Company ushers in the holiday season with Little Women, Louisa May Alcott’s warmhearted coming-of-age story which became an instant American family favorite when it was first published in 1868. Background of the Play : Commissioned by the Foothill Theatre Company, this play was adapted by local novelist and FTC Affiliate Artist Sands Hall, and premiered on the FTC Mainstage in 1999. The play has been subsequently produced by the Woodland Opera House, the Ukiah Players, Wellesley Summer Theatre in Massachusetts, and by the Portage Performing Arts Center in Portage, Minnesota, as well as a number of high schools and colleges around the country.
