Litquake - San Francisco’s Literary Festival celebrates its ten-year anniversary this year. It’s one thing to call it’s the biggest one ever, but with 500 authors participating in 98 venues over 9 days it is also by far the most comprehensive. There’s a reason it's the biggest independent literary festival on the West Coast. Returning names such as Po Bronson, Dave Eggers, Armistead Maupin, Amy Tan, Andrew Sean Greer, Mary Roach, Daniel Handler, and Stephen Elliott join newcomers including three Pulitzer winners, a Project Runway victor and a This American Life star: Berkeley Breathed, Roz Savage, Christian Siriano,Thad Carhart, Kathleen Kent, Linda Gordon, Sarah Vowell, James Ellroy, Tracy Kidder and Terry McMillan. 80% of the events are free. Litquake runs October 9-17.
