Bassist Lisa Mezzacappas new body of compositions and arrangements are inspired by the fearless music of her free-jazz heroes of the 60s & 70s Ornette Coleman, Art Ensemble of Chicago, Sun Ra, Cecil Taylor, among others. Tapping into the spirit and values of these visionary artists, she re-imagines the tradition into something new.
