View scenes from 1900 onward of Louisiana's Old State Capitol from the postcard collection presented to the Old State Capitol Foundation Inc. in July of 1997 by Mr. and Mrs. Alfred S. Lippman. Postcard collecting, or deltiology, has been a part of U.S. popular culture for over 100 years. Rare antique cards are beautiful and historical as well as valuable. Some of the most treasured postcards depict historic buildings, streets and even towns which may no longer exist or which have changed significantly over time. These small works of art capture moments of our national history and reflect a century of social, economic, political and technological change.
