Dr. Alonso Aguirre, Vice-President for Conservation Medicine, Wildlife Trust
Dr. Aguirre is a pioneer in the new field of conservation medicine, which links wildlife medicine to ecosystem health. Dr. Aguirre studies emerging diseases in wildlife, domestic animals and humans, and works to establish health management plans for diseases, such as avian flu, that cross the species barrier.
BOSTON — The New England Aquarium will host a series of educational lectures and films delivered by well respected colleagues, scientists, professors and biologists from various aquatic fields. Topics of discussion will include coral reef extinction, ecosystems, marine mammal life and more. The New England Aquarium is a global leader in ocean exploration and marine conservation. The Aquarium Lecture Series is presented free to the public through the generosity of the Lowell Institute. Programs will begin at 7 p.m. in the Harborside Learning Lab, located at the New England Aquarium, Central Wharf, Boston, unless otherwise noted.
