Link 16 has been used and developed by various MoD for several years. While the usage of Link 16 is mentioned to last for at least another decade, there is a constant ongoing effort to enhance its capabilities. Some of the developments include upgrading of JTIDS/MIDS terminals, enhanced throughput, time slot allocation, detection capabilities and higher data rate applications.

The course will cover modules on capabilities of Link 16, its system engineering, design planning and management, its limitations and possible solutions. To ensure practical applications of modules in Link 16, discussions will be supported by current design and management tools.
