The Lincoln Zombie Walk began in 2006 as an underground Flash-mob event where participants, dressed as zombies, paraded through the streets of Downtown Lincoln for the enjoyment and shock value of startling bystanders.

Now in our 6th year we have grown into a 2 day event. Our partnership with Pershing Center allowed the Lincoln Zombie Walk to transform into a mainstream event, the Lincoln ZombieFest.

This year’s event will take place on Friday August 24th and Saturday August 25th. Friday will kick off at 6p, with the Zombie Market our tradeshow floor, that will have everything a zombie could want, plus a few things his human counterpart might be interested in too. At 8p, our theatrical fashion show will have all eyes on the stage. Not to be out done, Jeff Martin-Hypnotist, will take the stage to perform his hypnosis show, with a zombie twist that you won't want to miss. At 10:00p Jon "The Animal" Terry will kick it up a notch as we dance the night away.

On Saturday everything changes! The humans have fallen and the zombies now reign. The Zombie Market will once again be open this year at 11a, but on the main floor, while zombification takes place in the basement. There will be makeup artists available for a small fee and changing areas to get into the items purchased at the market. Don’t fret last year’s popular events such as the games, prizes, photo booth and contests will be back.

Not to be outdone by its human counterparts the day before, Zombie Day will consist of a costume contest, along with the Walk itself, which will culminate in a military standoff on campus. Then it’s back to Pershing where The Walkers from AMC’s “The Walking Dead” will take the stage to answer all of your burning questions, before the Zombie Street Party kicks off.
