Lincoln Center Festival presents an array of unique dance performances during this year's performance season. There will be a performance by Ballet National de Marseille on an intricate stage designed by British architect Zaha Hadid. The choreographer, Frederic Flamand, has used Hadid's architectural genius along with lighting effects and video to create the feeling of an urban setting. This masterpiece marks a dramatic new direction for ballet, and will be performed July 25th, 26th, and 27th.There will also be the world premiere of Slow Dancing, an outdoor, multi-channel video installation of hyper slow-motion portraits projected nightly on the facade of the New York State Theater. This free installation captures the beauty of the body in motion, depicting movement of dance icons astonishly captured at 1,000 frames per second. The installation consists of an every-changing trio of dancers, each over 40 feet tall. The installation will run nightly during the Lincoln Center Festival (July 10-29) from 9:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m.
