In conjunction with the national celebration of the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth, the History Center honors Abraham Lincoln’s legacy through a special limited-run exhibit. The exhibit will include rarely seen artifacts that provide glimpses into Lincoln’s personal and public lives including an 1837 letter to Mary Owens, a woman Lincoln wanted to marry before Mary Todd; an 1865 letter from Frederick Douglass to Mary Todd Lincoln following Lincoln’s assassination; a letter from Lincoln to Ulysses S. Grant, prophesying Grant’s victory during the Civil War, and more.
The History Center is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
