Hellman's "The Autumn Garden" is an intimate play full of introspection, turmoil and verbal confrontation where the surface is not the truth, and all that is solid melts away.
Hellman is at her peak as a playwright...summer resort guests explore the emotional dark places that lurk as friends deal with the cataclysmic choices they have made.
It is a place where all are "busy looking into other people's hearts so [they] wouldn't have to look" into their own.
Directed by Steven Scott Mazzola who has give area audiences plays that are moving, thought-provoking and full of visual style.
"The Autumn Garden" runs Wednesday-Saturday evening at 8 PM and selected Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:30 PM. Preview is March 16 at $15. Regular run tickets $23-$29.
