The Do LaB, an extreme décor and event creation company that has worked on events for clients such as Lexus, Coachella Music Festival, Ford, Audi, Red Bull, Scion, and Esquire Magazine, announced today that their three-day Summer art and music festival will be fueled almost entirely by solar power and bio-diesel. This Festival will take place July 14, 15 and 16 at the Live Oak Campground just North of Los Angeles near the city of Santa Barbara. All tickets are weekend passes and are being sold in tiers, please see website for current ticket availabilities – www.lightninginabottle.org
With an expected attendance in the thousands, the weekend will feature a lineup of musical and performance talent that represents some of the most acclaimed and original acts the West Coast has to offer. Fresh off their major US tour with pop sensation Panic! At the Disco, Lucent Dossier will perform an original new piece at the festival. The event’s lineup features a range of world-class djs, live bands, and performers that covers the spectrum from established to up-and-coming, from pop to eclectic, from San Diego to Seattle. For full lineup details please visit: http://www.lightninginabottle.org
Scheduled for July 14-16, Lightning in a Bottle will use alternate power to power sound and lighting for 4 large performance stages, and almost all the rest of the festival’s energy needs. After two years of working with the Coachella Music Festival, running the festival’s domes, and witnessing the massive waste huge events like this generate, The Do Lab is setting out to prove that it can be done in an environmentally-conscious way.
Appealing to the rapidly expanding sustainable and creative lifestyle, Jesse Flemming, co-founder of The Do LaB said, “We’re trying to improve on the green festival concept that is just starting to pop up all over the world. We’re amazed at the amount of waste produced at the larger festivals and think that we can maintain two bottom lines: the first is to produce a successful and amazing event with a major capacity, and the second is that we can do it without the extreme amounts of waste that are produced by other weekend events like this.”
The festival is scheduled for July 14th, 15th and 16th and will take place on a 50 acre forest known to locals of Santa Barbara as Live Oak Campground. In addition to the environmentally friendly engines of the festival, The Do LaB has coordinated several vendors to offer both vegan and vegetarian cuisine to the participants of the event, and will offer day-time workshops on how to utilize solar power and bio-diesel fuel in every day life, as well as other entertaining workshops including glass blowing, clay moulding, belly dancing, yoga and more.
On board for the festival are world-class acts such as Cheb i Sabbah (chebisabbah.com), Lucent Dossier Vaudeville Cirque (currently on tour with Panic! At the Disco (lucentdossier.com)), Particle (particlepeople.com), The Yard Dogs Road Show (eddyjoecotton.com/yarddogs) and over thirty other major local artists and performers from the west coasts largest art communities.
Tickets can be purchased via the festivals web site, www.lightninginabottle.org or at the location’s box office the weekend of the event. For more information, please visit www.lightninginabottle.org or www.thedolab.com
