Lift Off: Remembering Thomas Chapin: Higher and Higher February 13, 2008

This concert commemorates the late NYC avant jazz saxophonist, Thomas Chapin. It will feature Chapin's musical collaborators, including original Thomas Chapin Trio members, The New Thomas Chapin Orchestra, a 15-piece big band featuring former members of the innovative, experimental ensemble The Walter Thompson Orchestra, of which Chapin was a member in the '90s. Also on the program is Paul Jeffrey Ensemble and others. Proceeds from the events will benefit Akasha, Inc and Jazz Foundation of America.
