The Durham Arts Council presents its next exhibition: “Life Through Quilts,” a collection of works around the theme of life as expressed through fiber arts by quilters of the African-American Quilt Circle of Durham, which opens August 6th, 2010, and runs through October 3rd, 2010. There will be an Artists Reception that is free and open to the public on August 20th, 2010, from 5p.m. to 7p.m. at the Durham Arts Council. Join us in celebrating the collection of hand-crafted works that showcases the talents of local quilters and aims to raise awareness of quilting practices in the community.
All events will be held at the Durham Arts Council’s building at 120 Morris Street, Durham, NC 27701-3242. (919) 560-2787. www.durhamarts.org. For further information, contact Barclay McConnell at 919-560-2719.
