LADmatters Festival Presents
9 Original Plays, 30 International Films, World-Renown Speakers
From more than 250 film and play submissions Life and Death Matters Multi-Media Festival (LADmatters.com) proudly unveils a final festival program of nine original short plays, 30 international films, and a host of dynamic speakers, including Temple Grandin, Ph.D., and filmmaker William Arntz, as well as an amazing array of educational programming.
The historic Nomad Theater in north Boulder is the home for the inaugural play and film festival, based on the many ways we face and navigate the journey through life.
On September 3, at 7:30 p.m., experience the hilarious to the poignant and thoughtful through LADmatters theater festival program, including “Waiting For the Carp” by Denver playwright Linda Berry, in which two mayflies discuss the meaning of life in eight minutes. The award winning “Seldom is Heard” by Mary Steelsmith brings the audience into the home of a young war vet with an I.E.D.-caused brain injury. “Smitten” by Mark Harvey Levine reveals what it could be like to date (and break up with) God himself, and in “Independence Day” by Rhea MacCullum, a mom and her adult daughter navigate the difficult road of terminal illness.
